Before you leave home, we’d like to send you a map
When you book a camper through us, we try to post you a free Hema map and guide for the part of Australia you’re actually driving. We post to Europe and Australia, and to places close to either if the post is practical. We can’t promise it every time, but we’ll tell you if it won’t reach you.

A map for the road you’re taking
There’s not much use in a Cape York guide if you’re driving around Tasmania. So we look at where you’re headed and choose from Hema’s range to suit. Here are twelve of them, by where you might be going.
The Kimberley
Darwin, Kakadu and the Gulf
Cape York
Perth and the west coast
The desert tracks
The Flinders Ranges
K’gari
Tasmania
The High Country
A big lap of Australia
Several states

Worth having on your phone too
- Smartreka maps cover parks in Western Australia such as Karijini, Purnululu and Cape Range. Once they’re downloaded in the Avenza Maps app, your phone shows where you are without a connection.
- Explore Parks WA has visitor guides and maps for its parks. Download the ones on your route.
- Tourism NT’s Binns Track itinerary is good for tracing the sections you plan to drive.
Before you lose reception
- Download your maps, booking instructions and useful phone numbers while the connection is good.
- Check that the area covers side trips and other ways round, not only the main road.
- Turn your connection off and open everything once, so you know what’s really there.
- Sort out how you’ll charge your devices, and keep a backup of what you can’t do without.
- Check dates on what you saved. An offline copy won’t show a closure announced after you downloaded it.
